Berlin Overnight (HD)

On a short trip to Berlin we were able to see a few sites in Berlin. The subway system is easy to get around and while very useful, has a more Eastern block starkness about it. Our first stop on the subway had us passing the Bundesrat. On the walk to what is left of the Berlin wall we saw a parade of Trabant (also called a trabi) cars which are old-style Eastern German cars with a two-stroke engine that where known for a great deal of space in a compact car, underperformance, and you can see the excessive smoke as they drive past. The musuem Topgraphy of Terror is located right next to the wall and it had the Nazi plans for Berlin, and some extensive photos, history and a few displays of the rise and fall of Nazi Germany. I really wish I knew what the motorcycles were in the display, if someone knows please tell me. Then it was on to Brandenburg Gate which is probably the most known landmark of Berlin. At the gate there were a number of people in costumes including an East German soldier, East German officer and the Berlin Bear holding Berlin flags and the flag of the former DDR. I was very surprised to see what looks like a Quebec flag at the gate. I could understand seeing the US, French, British and Russian sectors, but I was not sure why Quebec was represented. At the Hotel Aldon, one of the most expensive hotels in Berlin, I went around quietly filming until I was told it was forbidden, I would have like to share more of it.
